If you're looking for an accessible playground near McKinney that offers much more than swings and slides, this farm-themed destination is well worth adding to your family's adventure list.
🚗 Plenty of Space to Settle In
As you drive in, you'll immediately notice the expansive parking area—a huge plus on busy weekends or during one of Celina's many community events.
Once you settle in, you'll find plenty of covered picnic tables with views of nearly the entire playground. It's a thoughtful setup that gives kids room to explore while parents can comfortably keep an eye on the action. Each pavilion also includes charcoal grills and electrical outlets, making it a great spot for birthday parties or longer family outings.
💦 Cool Off at the Splash Pad
Visiting between Memorial Day and Labor Day? There's a good chance your kids will make a beeline for the splash pad.
Designed for children of all ages and abilities, the splash pad features fountains that pop up from the ground in surprising patterns, encouraging plenty of running, laughing, and repeat trips through the water. It's easy to see why many families consider it one of the best splash pads in Celina, especially during those long Texas summer days.

🚜 Farm-Themed Fun for Every Age
When everyone's ready to dry off, it's time to step into the park's farm-themed playgrounds.
The toddler area is one of the best we've seen. Unlike many playgrounds where the little-kid section feels like an afterthought, this one offers enough variety to keep toddlers and preschoolers happily exploring.
Little farmers can tackle a mini obstacle course, zoom down two slides, bounce on spring rider animals (including one with a safety bar for younger riders), cruise along a corral fence built at just the right height, climb aboard a stone cow, play hide-and-seek inside a tractor, and explore a charming barnyard playscape.

For older kids, just look toward the towering slides peeking out from grain mill-inspired structures.
The 5–12 playground is full of opportunities to climb, balance, slide, and challenge growing confidence. Kids can explore multiple climbing routes, race down tall slides, tackle obstacle elements, bounce together on a large group rocker, scale a towering net climber, and discover built-in sensory activities—all while the farm theme continues throughout the playground.
It’s easy to see why many families consider this one of the best playgrounds in Celina.

The playground is only part of what makes Old Celina Park worth the trip.
Located between the playground and sports complex are two multi-use courts that can be configured for pickleball, tennis, or volleyball. Even better, they're positioned close enough that parents can still keep an eye on kids playing nearby.

Off to one side of the park, you'll also discover a smaller fenced playground near the walking trail.
Pro Tip: If the main playground is especially busy, this quieter play area is a great place for younger kids to enjoy some extra space.

The nearby trail winds past a peaceful pond with a fishing dock, making it a great spot for an evening stroll, family picnic, reading break, or simply enjoying the scenery.
